Join My Triathlon Club

My triathlon club is looking for new members, and I thought that some of you could be interested.

Top 10 reasons why I think my tri-club is phenomenal:

  1. 1 hour of personal 1:1 training per month – You get an hour each month with our coach Shannon, to go over your training scheduling, to have a swim lesson, or a weight training session.  Shannon's an amazing coach who's brought the club huge success in club-wide competitions, and has coached many athletes to placing in their age group and participating in ironman distance competitions.
  2. Eight! coached swim workouts per week – personally, I need all the help I can get in the pool, and the coaches provide helpful tips.  Plus each coach puts together different workouts: never again will you do the same swim workout twice.
  3. Awesome run training – coached track workouts, led hill runs, tempo runs and brick runs.  You will become a faster runner training with this group.
  4. Weekly group rides – never worry about breaking down or an accident on the road again.  Our weekly group rides are fun, friendly and safe.  Plus, you'll get to see places you'd never think to go on your own.
  5. It keeps you motivated – getting to see other club members in the pool, on the rides and at the finish line makes you want to go to every workout.  Not to mention the free personal training.
  6. You'll learn a ton – from lectures on nutrition and transitions, to how and where to buy a great bike, to experiences and evaluations of upcoming races, the club is an off-the-charts resource for anybody doing triathlons.
  7. You can be a beginner, or advanced – we have ironman athletes in the club; and personally I had never done 10 laps in the pool when I started last year, but ended up coming in 3rd in my age group at the Marin Triathlon.
  8. You don't have to train for a triathlon – People in the club train for events like: Sharkfest swim, Kaiser and Oakland Half Marathon, Double Dipsea, the Marin Century, Ti2Y swim, Adventure Races and more.
  9. The people are amazing! – the club is super laid-back, and the people are really friendly, despite being phenomenal athletes.  I guess it's a YMCA thing, but nobody made fun of me when I was a beginner and wore all sorts of ridiculous clothing in the pool and biking.
  10. It's a great deal ($75/month for YMCA members, $130/month for non-members) – can you believe how inexpensive it is for what you get?  Heck, at $75, it's worth it for the personal training alone.

I've attached more information. Including a sample schedule of the 20+ coached workouts you can go to each week. Check it out today. Registration ends next Friday (2/12).
